CIRCLE is patent-pending infrastructure for the secure and lawful transfer of trained personal AI assets between users, institutions, and generations. It concerns what becomes of an AI system that has accumulated years of specific knowledge when the person or institution it was trained around changes.

Personal AI systems are becoming repositories of specialised, long-accumulated knowledge, and no established arrangement governs what happens to that accumulation at a point of transition — a change of institution, a retirement, an estate. The knowledge is valuable, often sensitive, and frequently subject to obligations that do not end with the relationship that created it. In practice such assets are either stranded or transferred informally, neither of which withstands examination.

CIRCLE provides the structures through which a trained personal AI asset can pass from one holder to another under defined conditions: establishing what is being transferred, on what authority, and subject to which constraints, so that the continuity of the asset does not require abandoning the obligations attached to it.

Institutions that hold these assets on behalf of individuals — in education, in healthcare, in professional practice — will face the transfer question whether or not infrastructure exists for it. Providing lawful continuity as architecture, rather than resolving each case administratively, is what makes the outcome consistent and examinable.
